Laurus nobilis, commonly called laurel, is part of the lauraceae group and is included in the laurus genus. The name laurel comes in fact from the word laurus which in Latin meant noble. The plant seems to be native to Asia Minor and has arrived in Europe since ancient times. Today laurel is widespread in most of the countries bordering the Mediterranean such as Italy, Spain, Greece, Tunisia and many others. It is found in the woods close to the coast to compose real spontaneous formations typical of the less arid areas of the Mediterranean scrub. It is often chosen for parks and gardens as an ornament thanks to its good scent and ability to grow vertically and with dense foliage.

It is often and rightly also used in the kitchen to flavor different dishes.

Make sure that the soil has good drainage and that there is no stagnation of water. To cure laurel, you don't have to do much, you can prune the plant at will, the plant has in fact a great ability to fill and adapt to different spaces and positions
