PLUMBAGO BLUE FLOWER
Reference: BL-81101030C
Climbing plant, cultivated in pot and in the ground with a copious flowering that gives splendid light blue inflorescences.
Blue as the sky, the Plumbago makes you fly in the clouds of your garden! The plumbago or blue jasmine is a deciduous shrub of the family of the Plumbaginaceae family. Native to the tropical regions of Asia and America, it is widespread and cultivated as an ornamental plant in the open ground or in a pot. The plant, with a semi-climbing or shrubby habit, has a robust taproot-collated root; the aerial part is formed by numerous semi-woody stems in the basal part and herbaceous in the apical one. The leaves are oval with smooth edges and a beautiful shade of bright green. The flowers are gathered in spike inflorescences on average about 20 cm long. Each flower has the shape of a trumpet with 5 blue petals. The seeds are small and dark.
TREATMENT: Plumbago is an easy-to-grow plant that does not require special attention. As we have already seen, frost is one of the adversities that limit its growth and survival. On the contrary, high temperatures are well supported by adult plants. For pot cultivation, loose soil, rich in organic matter and with a drainage on the bottom of the container to avoid water stagnation, is indicated. If grown in open ground, Plumbago has no particular substrate needs.
In the 14cm pot version it has grown to grow in width, in the 17cm pot version with stick it can also be grown vertically.
