Gerbera
The gerbera plant is characterized by a rosette of basal leaves with jagged margins, from which cylindrical sheets covered with dense hair develop, which, starting from spring and throughout the summer, hatch similar to daisies, but with a larger diameter and characterized in this case by an intense red color. The flowers of this plant open in the morning with the light of day and close again at sunset; they are also sensitive to artificial light.
TREATMENT: Gerbera needs a lot of light: it can also be placed in full sun in areas where summer is mild, but it fears cold and drafts. It can be grown both in the apartment and in the garden. This plant does not need particular attention: water it constantly, but moderately and only when the soil appears dry. If the gerbera does not receive enough water, it will appear wilted, while on the contrary, the leaves will tend to turn yellow due to an excess of water. Avoid wetting flowers and leaves during watering, to avoid getting sick; also, pay attention to water stagnation, which could cause the roots to rot.
