Verbena prefers bright, sunny places but sheltered from the winds. It suffers from the cold climate and prefers soft, porous and rich in organic matter soils. Verbena grown in pots require a soil that is constantly moist but without water stagnation in the saucer. Watering must be regular in summer with little water and without wetting the leaves, which are scarce in winter.
