Dalmatians are famous for the pretty spots on their white, shiny coat. They are friendly, intelligent and very active. That's why they need a lot of exercise and spiritual employment.
Dalmatians are from Croatia and are tall, slim, elegant dogs. Their patches are as intriguing and unique as a human fingerprint. Dalmatians are mainly cuddly family dogs, but also attentive watch and perennial rescue dogs. Especially with horses, but also with other animals, they understand each other very well. That's why they used to accompany the fire trucks in England and are still the mascot of the New York Fire Department. They are therefore often called firefighter dog.
The Dalmatian coat is not always spotted black. It can also be brown.
